The stash disaster has been averted….

We wanted pink dresses to wear on the mile to promote our show.  We wanted all the dresses to look the same.  We didn’t have very much money.  We have 16 people in our cast and crew (including several funny-shaped boys).

Thankfully, the amazing Claudia managed to find The Perfect Dress for next to nothing.  We were able to order 15 bright pink dresses that are almost the exact colour of pink that we’ve used on our flyers, all for a stupidly low price.

The only downside was that they were sitting in a warehouse somewhere in Scandanavia and we needed them in Edinburgh.  I placed the order, expecting to be able to ship them to one of the flats we rented in Edinburgh.  I’d filled out the online order form and entered my shipping address.  When I clicked the ‘enter’ button, I expected to then enter the details of where I wanted the dresses to be sent and to choose between various shipping options.  But oh, no.  Instead, I got a confirmation screen saying that they would be sent to the billing address and would arrive between the 1st through the 5th of August.  This was no good as I was planning to leave for Edinburgh on the 3rd.

I quickly rang customer service and had a very, very long conversation in which I got absolutely nowhere.  The customer service people didn’t have any clue about when things would ship, there was no way to track it, there was no way to pay for a quicker shipping option, and there was definitely no way for the dresses to be delivered anywhere apart from the billing address of the card used to pay for the dresses.

Thankfully, a true prince among men agreed to stand by in Cambridge, wait for the parcel and, once it arrived, hop on the next train to Edinburgh.

Sure enough, the dresses arrived on the fifth.  They arrived in Edinburgh, shortly after midnight.  In about an hour, you’ll be able to see them for yourself on the Royal Mile.

Thank you thank you thank you, wonderful train-hopping person.
