grace

This is why I am a believer in pet insurance.

You and your delicate little bones have gone through so much:
a fracture in your back right femur, two pelvic fractures,
two splintered kneecaps that needed to be wired together
bouts of asthma (controlled with a Ventolin inhalor),
a thyroid removal, seasonal problems with allergies,
special diets to combat renal problems.
Still, you always seem content.

I wish I knew
how to walk
with such
grace.

This poem makes a little bit sad. I hope your cat is okay.

Thanks for the good wishes, Evelyn and Pamela!

She just had a check-up at the vet – he was very pleased at how well she’s doing. Though she’s had a couple surgeries and is now beginning to get on a bit, she can still walk, jump small heights and make it through the cat flap to enjoy the garden. (She’s not perfect, but I’m amazed she’s moving at all!) Her blood tests results came back great – the thyroid surgery really helped and the diet cat food is keeping her kidney problems under control. Everything is going as well as possible at the moment.

I’m constantly amazed at how she deals with everything with the utmost patience. I occasionally have to give her puffs of Ventolin – there’s a little mask that fits over her face. Any other cat I know would tear me to shreds, but Katie just gets on with things.
